Understanding checkout totals on Holstime.
What is the service fee?
On some paid activity bookings, Holstime adds a small service fee on top of the organiser's ticket price. It is shown separately from the ticket before you pay, together with the total amount due.
The ticket price is set by the organiser. The service fee supports Holstime platform operations (hosting, booking flows, support, and ongoing product development).
Why does Holstime charge a service fee?
Holstime is a marketplace platform. The service fee helps us run secure checkout, booking confirmation, notifications, and organiser tools. It is not a payment to the organiser — their ticket price is listed separately.
Some organisers or listings may be exempt from the service fee; when exempt, you only pay the ticket price shown.
How is it calculated?
The service fee is calculated as a percentage of the ticket subtotal (before the fee). You always see the breakdown on the checkout screen before confirming payment.

Amounts on your screen may differ depending on ticket price, quantity, and whether a fee applies to that listing.
Refunds and the service fee
If you cancel a paid booking, ticket refunds follow the organiser's cancellation policy. The Holstime service fee is generally non-refundable, except where required by law or at Holstime's discretion.
