Family Workshop: Flower and Plant Hapa Zome Prints

Learn an ancient Japanese technique to create unique floral prints, inspired by the landscape of Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet. Slow down and create something beautiful together in the calm and historic setting of the Hamlet. In this hands-on family workshop, we’ll guide you through the ancient Japanese technique of hapa zome, which involves tapping leaves and flowers using a hammer to release the plants’ natural dyes and transfer vibrant colours and shapes onto your fabric. Forage for flowers and plants around the historic site before creating your own unique artworks on fabric and paper to take away with you and treasure. This workshop is suitable for the whole family to do together. We will provide all the materials you need, and no experience is required.
